Project Scope and Results
The project focuses on creating a digital ecosystem under the general title MCOMS HealthCARE, which will include the development of an interactive dashboard (user interface) through which the patient can access from any screen (TV, mobile device (e.g., smartphone/tablet), or hospital-grade equipment (bedside terminal)) access to a range of services such as:
-Information about the healthcare provider
-Communication with the provider’s facilities (calling a nurse, ordering food, satisfaction survey, etc.)
-Personalized updates on the course of their hospitalization (goals, test dates, discharge process, etc.)
-Entertainment content (movies, TV channels, radio)
-Wellness content (music, videos)
-Educational medical content
-Connectivity services (streaming, internet)
The goal is to upgrade the services provided to patients and enable healthcare units to communicate with, inform, educate, and entertain patients and visitors. The ecosystem will be implemented as a set of self-sufficient, interoperable applications. During development, best practices are emerging around digital patient interaction systems. Compliance with GDPR regulations will also be ensured. The proposed ecosystem will be available on both on-premises infrastructure and in the cloud. The project will result in τηε development of demonstrable digital prototypes for each individual application and for the overall ecosystem.
